
Chennai, May 22, 2024 – Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) have partnered to launch co-branded M.Tech. programs in Construction Technology and Management (CTM) and Infrastructure Project Management (IPM), starting in July 2024. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic excellence and industry expertise, equipping core engineering students with essential skills and practical knowledge.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on May 22, 2024, by Dr C Jayakumar and Dr Sushma S Kulkarni, in the presence of other distinguished dignitaries from partnering institutions including Dr Jonardan Koner, Professor and Dean, Career Services, NICMAR University; Dr C Jayakumar, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Human Resources (CHRO), L&T; R Ganesan, Head – Corporate Centre, L&T; and Sanjai Ranganathan, Chief Executive, L&T EduTech.
Thirty students will be enrolled in each program’s first year through NICMAR’s entrance exam. The programs are designed to provide students with invaluable practical experience through internships and projects at L&T, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the construction and infrastructure sectors.
L&T EduTech will act as the service partner, providing instructor-led courses at the NICMAR campus. LTE and IPM will offer 10 courses under the CTM program and 14 courses under the IPM program, ensuring thorough coverage of essential topics. A dedicated board of studies from L&T will oversee these programs, guaranteeing they meet top academic and industry standards.
This collaboration promises a robust learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, reflecting the dedication of both institutions to fostering students’ career development in construction technology and infrastructure project management.
