To aid learners in understanding the basics of geotechnical engineering by learning the concepts behind soil investigation, selection of foundation based on the soil types, its design and construction methodologies.
This course deals with the basics of foundation engineering covering wide range of topics in foundation engineering from analyzing the soil to selection of foundation and design of foundations based on the project requirements, developed from L&T’s expertise in the field. A case study with real-time examples including relevant images and videos has been provided for better understanding of the course. The theory and concept behind earth retaining structures and the stability of a retaining wall has also been covered.
By completing this course, the learner will gain knowledge and understand the actual execution process and will know the soil behaviour for each type of foundation. The learners will also be able to analyse the soil investigation report and design a type of foundation based on the requirements and understand the basic concepts behind retaining walls, which will aid in real time execution.
