In a significant move to bridge the gap between academia and industry, L&T EduTech has partnered with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Trichy Campus) to launch joint industry-integrated postgraduate programs in advanced IT fields. LTIMindtree will serve as the knowledge partner for these innovative programs.
Starting from the academic year 2024-25, the two-year M.Tech programs aim to equip postgraduate students with practical training and exposure to industry dynamics, ensuring they are industry-ready upon graduation. The growing demand for skilled professionals in specialised IT domains underscores the importance of this initiative, which will prepare students with advanced industry-oriented skills and practical knowledge.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between L&T EduTech and SRM took place on 18 June 2024 at the L&T Headquarters in Chennai. Mr S Niranjan, Co-Chairman of SRM – Trichy & Ramapuram Campus, graced the event as the chief guest. Senior academic leaders from SRM, along with industry leaders from LTIMindtree and the L&T Group, were also in attendance.
Mr S Niranjan highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with L&T EduTech and LTIMindtree is a strategic step towards enhancing the quality of technical education. By integrating academic excellence with industry expertise, we are creating a robust educational framework that will empower our students with the skills needed to excel in the fast-evolving tech industry.”
Other notable dignitaries at the ceremony included Mr Ramesh Revuru, Global Head – Low-Code, Automation, Integration Platform Ops Delivery at LTIMindtree; Mr Akkaiah Janagaraj, Global Head – Cybersecurity Practice at LTIMindtree; Dr Rathinavelu Arumugam, Principal – Consulting, Lead – Education Programs and Academia Engagement at LTIMindtree; and Dr R Jagadeesh Kannan, Dean – Faculty of Engineering and Technology at SRM IST Trichy; Dr Anbuthambi B, Head – Strategy and Partnerships at L&T EduTech, along with other leaders and experts from both SRM and L&T Group companies.
