As technology evolves rapidly, IT/ITES is changing the dynamics of the job market and creating more opportunities for fresh talent. The Indian IT/ITES sector crossed $200 billion in total revenue and five million in total workforce in 2022. However, IT/ITES, like other industries, is faced with high attrition rates due to a widening skill gap.
The L&T Academic Leadership Summit 2022, held on 12 May, 2022, was aimed at bringing together senior academicians, industry experts and HR leaders to discuss and develop industry-oriented learning methods that help bridge this skill gap.
The post-lunch session of the summit commenced with an exciting panel discussion on “Developing the Future of Work for IT/ITES Sector”. The panel included Senthil Nayagam, SVP, Hexaware, Balaji Kumar, CHRO, LTI and Satish Rajarathnam, SVP HR, Mphasis who spoke about the accelerated transformation of technology and how the future of work and skills beyond two to three visible years is almost unknown. Moderated by Manju Bharadwaj, CPO, Straive, this session turned out to be a deep introspection into the present IT/ITES sector.
