Program Overview

This program comprehends overall design of digital circuits with FPGA using simulation tools. The learners will be imparted with knowledge on Hardware Description Language (HDL) and coding the digital system. The program helps understand the basic digital building blocks design and simulation with VHDL and implementation with FPGA. The learner can acquire knowledge on practical industrial applications and communications protocols using VHDL with Xilinx ISE and FPGA. Understand design and develop prototype using FPGA with the Xilinx Vivado Design suite Software for Industrial applications.

To model combinational and sequential digital circuits using software Platform such as Xilinx ISE Software with VHDL as programming language.

To Design and develop prototype for industrial applications using FPGA sensors, actuators with Vivado Design Suite as the software platform.

Dr P Rangarajan

Subject Matter Expert (Electrical) – L&T EduTech

He holds a PhD in VLSI & Signal Processing from Anna University and a Professional Certification in Applied Data Science from IIT Pallakad. With over 33 years of experience in the field, he is an expert in VLSI, embedded systems and data science. Dr Rangarajan has held various academic positions, including Professor and Head of the Department of EEE and IT at RMD Engineering College. He has taught at RMK Engineering College and Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur. He has also been a visiting faculty at University of Portsmouth, UK (campus at Myanmar). He has supervised almost 20 PhD theses. Dr Rangarajan has several patents to his name, including Hybrid LP Gas-Petrol Generating System, IoT-Enabled Smart Meter for Rural Areas Without Internet, Zinc Air Battery for Rural Electrification and Intelligent Power Over Ethernet loT-Based Preterm Birth Detector. A prolific author, he has published numerous research papers in international journals and has been cited in several publications. He has won the Best Faculty Award from Cognizant Technology Solutions 2014-15.
